Deacon
Dominic Cerrato
I'm
really excited to be the new Life Teen Director here
in Steubenville. Many of you have known me for years
as the pastoral associate at Holy Family Church. Many
others are no doubt saying, "Deacon who?" If you've
been to Mass at Holy Family, I'm the guy who sits
to the right of Father Rich. If that still doesn't
ring a bell, rest assured, I won't let you hide in
the crowd. I'd like to get to know everyone of you
personally and do everything I can to make your experience
of LifeTeen and the Catholic Church fulfilling.
Be
absolutely assured, the area pastors are committed
to you. They want you to have a vital youth group.
To that end, I have one ultimate goal, one main reason
for being with you: to deepen your relationship with
Jesus Christ. Everything else we do, all our programs
and events, all our service projects and fundraisers,
are ordered to that one goal. My task, indeed my very
heart, is that our Lord becomes more relevant in your
everyday life, to make Him more meaningful as you
struggle with all that young adulthood brings.
To
do this, I need your help. YOU are the most decisive
factor in the success of your Life Teen experience.
To the extent that you're open to God in your life,
to the extent that you actively participate in your
parishes, is the extent that you will be enriched.
Make no mistake, God has a unique plan for your life.
This plan is made especially for you and you alone.
It is my task to provide the community and the environment
to help you discern this plan.
As
young adults, you are no longer children. Now is your
time to stand up and take responsibility for your
future. Now is the time to become more fully what
you are and claim your Christian heritage. God is
calling you, the Church needs you, Jesus believes
in you, and He expects great things of you.
Please
pray for me as I assume this new ministry, and be
assured of my prayers.
In
Jesus and Mary,
Deacon
Dom
